Yeah I’ll have to try some experiments. I’ll see if debian packages a command line wireshark that I saw recently on lxer or someplace. Although tcpdump isn’t hard. I thought freepbx would have turned of iptables or firewalld when I “turned off the firewall” but I can check that too. Thanks for giving me something to check.

That would be overkill. Just type
tcpdump icmp
and look at what shows up when you ping from another terminal window.

Did you verify with the provider that they haven’t blocked you for some reason?
Time and Temp announcer in Freepbx
I am working on a time and temperature announcer for FreePBX. I have been recording the announcement, but I have read that I could set it up so FreePBX would get the weather automatically. I use the talking clock, which works well, but I would like to pull the weather so I dont forget to do it. Thank you for your help.

I don’t think there is an existing module for FreePBX to do this. You could program it to do this.

Chance that this is a provider block is between slim and none:
OP had verfied that he can’t ping from the PBX but can from another host on the same LAN.
So for this to be a provider issue, he would need multiple public IPs, with the two hosts routing through different addresses, all three of his providers blocked the PBX address, in a way that affects icmp.

This is how you cause violence in Arizona… This is something that would need to be done manually… Note that could be as simple as a script calling a .call file to do the page.
Blocking some sites even with firewall off
Any computer on the same subnet would also get blocked and I verified I could ping from any other. Besides it is working since I moved to a new vm. I’m keeping the other vm to help troubleshoot.

There was one weather by zip but it does not work; it has issues, so I had to delete it. I was able to get an api but was not sure how to do it. I’m searching the web. One of the guys suggests I request help here, so I’m doing that.

So after 2 days off the broken vm is now working. Rrrrr what ever was blocking is temporary but lasted hours. I was pinging on my other system at the same time so I know it was something on the vm.

I’ve used
in various projects. There is a generous free tier, simple API and it’s been reliable, though it requires attribution, e.g., “From OpenWeather, temperature on the Las Vegas Strip is 102 Fahrenheit.”

Fields with accentuated characters are not imported in bulk import
Hello,
Trying to import extensions with accentuated characters (for example ö or é) from a csv, the import succeeds but fields with accentuated characters are left empty.
I’m able to input accentuated character in the GUI (for example Display Name), so I thought an import would be successful, but alas no.
Is there any way to encode the characters so that the import can be successful ?
thanks and have a nice day

Yealink W90DM - Base Stations Show "Active" but Not "Active Sync" and Marked as "Abnormal Status"
Hi,
I’m experiencing an issue with my Yealink W90DM and W90B base stations. The base stations are using DECT Sync (not LAN Sync), and all firmware is up to date. The sync level is set to “Automatic.” However, the base stations are shown as “Active” but not “Active Sync,” and they are marked as “Abnormal Status” in the W90DM web interface.
I’ve checked the following:
- All devices are powered on and connected to the same network.
- Firmware versions are the latest available.
- Sync levels are set to automatic, but the issue persists.
- No specific error codes are visible in the logs yet, but I can provide system logs if needed.
Could this be related to DECT signal interference, sync master configuration, or something else? Any suggestions for troubleshooting or resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Custom FollowMe CID
CONNECTEDLINE sends CallerID information back to the caller when the call is connected. So when I call from 100 to 200, having send_connected_line=yes means my endpoint (100) would show "Bob <200>"
on my phone.
Follow Me has “Change External CID Configuration” which controls how to present the CallerID details to the Follow Me list destinations. By default it transmits the original caller’s CallerID if allowed by the Trunk settings.
If the Follow Me call is to an external destination it will end out in the Outbound Routes that match. If that Outbound Route has Force CID set then it could use the Route’s CID and then the Trunk’s CID setting will be checked. At any of these points the external CallerID could be changed. Enabling “Send Connected Line” just means the caller will see the final CallerID that was sent on their phone.
In the OPs case this sounds like FM is sending this to their mobile phone and not showing the forwarded CallerID.
Queue terminates incoming call if remote user rejects
Hi @paultgreen
Can you collect a pcap and check what message is received when the mobile phone rejects the call?
Custom FollowMe CID
Does your provider allow you to do this? Many won’t, and may either reject the call, or force the caller ID associated with the account. Others may require you to go through hoops to do so, and might then mark it as attestation B, causing the downstream systems to flat it as unreliable.
Custom FollowMe CID
Attestation all depends on if this is the US or not. The blocking of foreign CIDs, however, many providers block that for various reasons.
