Google Voice Motif
Hey Guys I just did some updates and noticed the Goo voice was there. I downloads it and configured and it shows connected, I click on create trunk and route and it did not creates one. everything I see online it says that this module has been depreciated and no longer works. Is this correct? Is there any work around

GV no longer operates with Motif; there is no workaround.
GV currently uses a dialect of SIP that is incompatible with standard Asterisk. Some users have learned how to build and configure Asterisk to be compatible; see https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32078999-How-to-Install-naf-Asterisk-on-Ubuntu-for-Obi100-and-Google-Voice . However, Google has stated that such operation is in violation of their terms of service.
A Polycom/Obihai ATA or IP phone that is compatible with the current GV (OBi200 or better) can be configured as a trunk that will work with current versions of Asterisk and FreePBX.

It happened recently on one of our servers, I restarted the service and it’s been fine for 3 weeks now.
If it keeps on happening and you are on the latest version, contact support.
Anyway, Queue Callback is badly designed, it doesn’t seem like the Sangoma Developers like it, we were told a while ago that every time it crashes the solution would be to upgrade to edge and restart the service “cuz we are using it a lot”…

Personally I have the best experience with installing the virtual machine and moving all settings by hand. Since it’s all controllable via a web interface, just use 2 tabs in your browser.
This all depends of course on the amount of specific settings you have, but could be a big task.

Thoughts on a NUC
I’m in Oz and have been using Vultr with their Sydney servers for years. Pretty happy with it, easy and quick to setup, runs well and 1-2 ms ping to my sip provider.

Migrating to a new server
Backup and Restore. Create a backup on the current system and restore it on the new running ver 15. FreePBX 15 is the first version that allow restoring from legacy backups. Ensure you do all module updates before the restore, the current ISO has old versions of most modules.
If you don’t want to move to 15 yet, you can restore to the new system running an identical version.
