Stewart what do you suggest to do in order to get this issue solved?

There’s a discussion involving @jcolp from four years ago that describes the same question. There are a couple of suggestions made in there, but the thread just stops with a report of success or failure.

Warm Spare Backup breaking GUI on secondary PBX

When running a warm spare backup from PBX A to PBX B it completes successfully but a few moments after it finishes, the GUI of PBX B is unreachable. The error I get is:

You don’t have permission to access /.noindex.html on this server.

Any one have any ideas where to start with this? Tried rebooting but no luck.

How can I pass a variable to the trunk monitor agi script

I’m kind-of stumped at this point too.

I guess the only choices would be to feed it through a Bulk Handler CSV or submit it as a FR. I’m really surprised that the trunk ID isn’t available in the original context so you can pass the trunk variable from the original all. That way, at least, you could cut and paste it across all of your trunks.

Upgrading Asterisk version on a non-distro FreePbx Installation

Was this the tutorial you followed? https://wiki.freepbx.org/display/FOP/Installing+FreePBX+14+on+CentOS+7

You do not have to uninstall completely, but when you build the newer version of asterisk you should select the same options during the menuselect step. There is a way to copy the options you previously selected to a new build directory… off the top of my head that file is called menuselect.makeopts but I’m not certain.

Once you build and make install you should have the new asterisk files in place and can restart Asterisk… minimal downtime. Famous last words.

Since you are on DigitalOcean, take a snapshot before you begin your work so that you can have a point to restore to in case it goes poorly.

There is a FreePBX 15 distro build in the DigitalOcean Marketplace now if you want to move to distro.

Sounds like the ownership of the created files is getting hosed up.

From the console, try “fwconsole chown” and see if that helps.

Most places only have a couple trunks. so it is not hard to set this up like this. But yeah, I would have preferred “magic”

How can I pass a variable to the trunk monitor agi script

A final thought: try looking at the res_agi.c code in the source archive and seeing what gets handled there. You might find that more of the globals are available than are currently passed?

So there is no option to FreePBX trigger the script. I also find this event in the queue log under /var/log/asterisk but scrapping the log is not very sophisticated solution the same is asking DB. That why I try find something which can trigger the script.

FreePBX 15 (PBXact) and UCP question/issue

$

OK, I am scratching my head here, and figured I would reach out for help before going through the issues of opening up a support ticket. I have a PBXact UC system, and on it we do use Zulu and the users take advantage of the UCP.

I have run into an issue where some users seem to have all widgets available, and then others only a few. In the User Management, I have the “All Users” group assigned to everyone, and things set to inherit for the users, so they should all be the same permissions in general. Yet with having double checked everything on some of the accounts, some get widgets that others don’t see, and it’s causing a problem.

Example, I have one extension and when I go into add a dasshoard widget, I see: Call History, Contacts, Fax, Follow Me, Presence, and VoiceMail.

Now I go into another user and see: Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, Call History, Contacts, Do Not Disturb, Fax, Follow Me, Presence, and VoiceMail.

The users all need DND and Forwarding, but only some get the option, which is weird as I went in and even enabled all the stuff in phone apps and even the available options in the UCP tab on user/group management.

I feel stupid here, but I have checked everything, even removed and recreated a couple users dashboards, but still the same. Anyone have any pointers on what I might be missing, and how to correct this issue?

Regards…

I have 568 entries in the main directory for PBXact, and at least the users I am comparing as listed above have a linked extension, I am guessing that is what you mean by a primary extension number?

I do have some accounts in the directory that are for sysadmin, that have admin permissions, but no linked extension, hopefully that is OK?

Sorry, I don’t understand why you are seeing old versions. I’d expect that if the repo access were failing, you’d just get an error, unless for some strange reason it fell back on the cache. But even that seems weird, because you have newer modules installed.

I hope that someone who knows more about the update process can step in.

There are a few related Advanced Settings that you might try:
Disable Module Admin Caching
Set Module Admin to Edge mode
Use wget For Module Admin

I am actually not really clear where the Asterisk stops and Freepbx starts (or the other way round). I ran a backup from Freepbx, and I can find it in the /var/spool/asterisk/backup folder. So, I assume this then backs up all settings for freepbx and asterisk? I sometimes see that to set certain things people aare asked to modify some configuration files. Are those also backed up and transferred when the backup is restored to a new system?

What are my update paths?

Correct. When you run a full backup, all PBX settings are included in the tarball. You can also opt to include voicemail, system recordings, cdrs etc. which will also be transferred.

It is perfectly fine to have a mix of chan_sip and pjsip extensions/trunks, they work fine together.

Backups are probably saved in:

/var/spool/asterisk/backup

in various folders. Remove files with:

rm <filename>
