S700 base stand don't fit with EXP100

Bought an EXP100 to test with my S700, and the S700’s base stand could not be replaced without a bit of attention from a Dremel tool to trim one of the corners so it wouldn’t be blocked by the attachment plate connecting the two devices. Is this normal or did I get something weird?.
