Ring Group ring notificaton

I’ve tried this.

I have 4 extensions in a ring group. Set as “first available”. The “#” is to allow Follow Me rules to function.
Extension list is:
141#
142#
143#
144#

I also have set the Follow Me of each extension to “Initial Ring Time= 1s”, “Ring Strategy=ringallv2”, "Follow-Me List=141 & 117 (notifying extension).

When dialing the Ring Group, ext 141 and 117 ring fine and I can answer it without issues. The issue is if 141 is ringing or the call is connected, any other calls to the Ring Group are told the line is busy until 141 is no longer on the call or ringing.

How activate and deactivate the Voicemail and do external forwarding with feature codes

If you setup a BLF key for *280 the key will lite when the call flow is active and go off when inactive. All it takes is a button press to go from active to inactive and Vice Versa. We do this all the time with Call Flows

Place an external number in a queue

Hello all,

I was reading other post like:

The begin this instructions I get to forward the call when the call come from internal, but when the call come from IVR(External) or DID (incoming route to ext), the call not come is rejected as busy or not availaible.

My case:

Asterisk: Asterisk 11.25.3
Freepbx: FreePBX 12.0.76.4
Centos: 6

In my configuration i have configured the outbound routes with extension filter like this:

Then i create a phatom extension or real extension with “follow me” settings, both cases work when the call come from other extensions because I customized the caller ID, then when do the forward match with the outbound rules and work as well; my issue is when the call come from IVR (with destination a phantom extension) or Income route (did number) to this extension, it not work.

My intenttion is use a external phone number as queue member, if I add directly the number in the queue how can I specify the callerID or the outbound route to use to call?

Thank you very much.

What if you get rid of the ring group. On 117, the notifying extension, you FMFM the other extensions you want to ring, as well as the strategy. Make sure 117 has call waiting and the same number of appearances as extensions you want to ring?

Don’t have time to test that, but would that work?

DOS Vulnerability in Asterisk chan_skinny CVE-2017-17090

Recently Asterisk have posted 2 security advisories of CVE-2017-17090 (AST-2017-013) and AST-2017-012.
The fixes for these advisory require Asterisk 13.18.3 and 13.18.4 respectively.
I am running the latest FreePBX patch 10.13.66-22; however, this version come with the latest Asterisk of 13.18.0.
I am wondering if FreeBOX has any plan to provide the next update for the version 10 with newer Asterisk?

Thank you,

Hello

I am currently testing FreePBX running on an EC2 instance on Amazon AWS.

To migrate onto AWS I first setup FreePBX as a virtual machine on my desktop using VirtualBox and I allocated a relatively small hard drive size. I then exported the VM and uploaded it as an image onto AWS so I could spin up an instance. When I created the AWS instance I gave it a 200GB hard drive. However, the FreePBX server still thinks it has an 8GB hard drive.

Does anyone have any information on how best to expand into the full 200GB.

Below are a few commands that may help profile more information on the setup:

Dead Air on Random Calls

$

Hello,
I am currently 6.12.65-30 with Asterisk v13. Every once in a while incoming or outgoing calls seem to have dead air. Sometimes we cannot hear the caller and sometimes they cannot hear us. I have had three calls today that have had this issue. I have set one extension to record calls and you can hear the call go dead and then the caller is able to be heard again. I have a port setup to mirror traffic on the Cisco switch and a machine I can set to monitor traffic to see if this shows any issues on our end that would cause this issue. Any other thoughts on how to troubleshoot? It is random at this point and only more noticeable on two customer service extensions because they take the bulk of the calls. Traffic is going over a PRI line over a fiber line from Time Warner. We used this same line previously with an old Avaya system and it didn’t experience these issues. Thanks for any tips to point me in the right direction.

Asterisk 13.18.3 is published now for the 10.13 distro. You can update with a yum update or asterisk-version-switch

I should also add that the FreePBX server is on site and on the same VLAN as the phones so there shouldn’t be a need to go through a router or firewall to access the server. Phones are Digium as well as the interface card. Server has 8GB of RAM that seems to be around 25% utlization and the CPU is never close to being used. I have seen an instance where the network was high, but hard to pinpoint timeframes.

How to add a line in the dialplan

Hi Lorne,

I think the variable AMPUSER is still empty at this time and will only be filled further on in the DND dialplan. That’s why I used CALLERID(num).

But please correct me when I’m wrong.

Quick calling via names

Hello

I have FreePBX with Sangoma S500 Handsets.

Is it possible to setup FreePBX to allow finding a contact via picking up the handset and then using the number pad, start to spell out their name instead of their extension number.

For example, if I want to call Steve I would pick up the handset and then press the number 7, this would then filter my internal contacts to all names beginning with “S”. Then I keep going on press the number 8, this would then filter the list to all internal contacts with names beginning with “St”.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Base on the article wiki.freepbx.org/display/PPS/FreePBX-Distro-10.13.66, the FreePBX patch 10.13.66-22 is latest for FreePBX v.10. And coming with this 10.13.66-22 is the Asterisk 13.18.0.

I followed your advise to run the yum update and head into a warning of unfinished transaction.
I therefore ran the yum-complete-transaction in order to check for the unfinished transaction and receive the following.

Looking at the install size of 522M, this seems to be a major update to the FreePBX system.

I am not familiar with this yum update method.
I only worked with the script update method before with FreePBX.

Is there a script update method to update the system like once posted here https://wiki.freepbx.org/display/PPS/FreePBX-Distro-10.13.66?

Thank you.

Hi,

I’m not sure why you use lvm over virtual environment, anyway think it was planning as well, the correct should be separate as lv the partition that you think will be grown more and not just root, if you do of this way you might extend the volume on the fly but in this case root is mounted by the system by this you need to unmount first.

I don’t know if in aws is possible but you need the boot with a iso in single user or multi-user mode, it’s depends of your distro version assumes that it based on rhel, then extend this logical volume root to reach the size desired using lvextend tool.

Other option think that can be mount this disk in other server and follow the before steps.

My advice before to start, please do ever a backup.

Good look.

Conference module: How to hangup the call after receiving incorrect password?

$

Hi,

This is a question about conferences module, Currently I am using version 13.0.23.7 of conferences module under FreePBX 13 (13.0.192.18).

I noticed sometimes we receive spam calls to the number tied to conference extension.
In order to prevent unwanted call session, I would like to hang up such spam call if the caller can not enter correct password for 3 times or not receiving password in certain duration.

First off, is it possible to set such limitation?
Any comment or insight would be highly appreciated!

Hi,
Change your Admin HTTP port to [PORT:80] & HTTPS to [PORT:443]. along with that make sure the firewall is deactivated. The issue will be fixed & then you can revert the changes as per your needs.

kind Regards,
Mohammad
