Zulu client questions

I think it would be handy to provide a button in Zulu client that links to UCP, so that with a single access all user control is offered.

I’m also wondering if Zulu contacts can be populated from Outlook contacts. For now it seems only to provide the members in the group defined in user manager.

I’m not really familiar, but we’ve done this a few times with SayDigits
Search a bit online, this and this is what i found.

Quick calling via names

I didn’t test it, but if it’s not working like this, then open a feature request.

We also use Sangoma S500/S700, but most users are using UCP to place calls. Much easier than searching on the phone.

Unable to repark a call

I’ve tested this a lot, and eventually found that calls that expire back to origin in Asterisk 11 do not permit the in-call blind transfer feature code. The parking Phone App as well as a button type of “Park” for some phone manufacturers rely on the the ## blind transfer feature code to park a call.

So the solution is to upgrade to Asterisk 13. The work around is to use a BLF button or the phone built in transfer button to re-park calls as these don’t rely on the ## feature code.

Does anyone else have issues with the CRM setup for Connectwise?

When I select CRM Setup and choose Connectwise none of the other options show up after saving the options.

Best way to trigger an audio file to be played over an extension

create x callfiles each “touched” incrementally y seconds apart, each playing the message of z seconds length, where z < y, have a feature code that deletes any remaining callfiles

ugly but it should work.

Upgrade 13 to 14?

The top of that page says

This script should only be used on PBXact and FreePBX 10.13.66-X systems

I’m running FreePBX 13.0.192.19. Is that still safe to use?

Let's Encrypt error

I thought I posted this, but I’m not finding it on the forum. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

I am receiving this error:

There was an error updating the certificate: Error ‘Requested host ‘14408872.deployments.pbxact.com’ does not resolve to ‘xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx’ (Found 63.227.75.142)’ when requesting http://14408872.deployments.pbxact.com//.freepbx-known/8713f9319d562903d425cd904165593e

In the error above, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is my current IP address. The IP address it found is a previous IP address of the server (We got a new ISP). It seems like the error is saying that the DDNS address (14408872.deployments.pbxact.com) is trying to direct to the old IP address. But my DDNS settings in system admin and on the Sangoma portal both point to the new IP address, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. I tried deleting the old certificate and tried creating a new one (using let’s encrypt) and I received the same error.

Any idea how to fix this?

Configured local extensions

Regarding Zend, that is mandatory if you want to install licensed modules which only work officialy on FreePBX Distro. It seems you installed FreePBX manually and that is why you can’t use licensed modules.

Regarding your other question, you shoud be more than fine with a Core i3 with 4gb of ram.

Module update hung - Downloading Ringgroups

I was updating my modules this afternoon but it got stuck. The last line reads “Downloading ringgroups” which it’s said for about 20 minutes now. What’s the best thing to do when it hangs like this? I closed the box with the X and clicked the Apply config button then went out to Module Admin and downloaded just that module. That seemed to work, but is that the right way to have handled this problem?

I’m running FreePBX 13.0.192.19 on a Sangoma appliance

Notes on 10.13->SNG7 Distro update

a) Had about 15 modules being reported as invalid - had to re-download/install. Could not do it via GUI (errors in reload process), had to do it via command line (fwconsole ma)

b) Under 10.13, I had a hybrid pjsip/chan_sip setup (trunks on chan_sip, extensions on pjsip). The upgrade switched me to a chan_sip only setup. Had to go into advanced settings and turn back on pjsip driver.

c) Trunks under chan_sip refused to accept incoming calls. Details here: Incoming calls to SIP Trunk not working after 10.13.66.22 -> SNG7 upgrade

d) Upgrade changed the centos rp_filter config. This messed up my somewhat rare dual NIC configuration. Had to fix by following these directions: http://jensd.be/468/linux/two-network-cards-rp_filter (short explanation: I need two NICs on the same subnet, with different IP addresses.)

The system will work perfectly without the modules that need Zend.

Not good that they haven’t let us update in 2 years, but still damn impressive stability and uptime!
