What would you like to see added in FreePBX 15?
I’m totally uninterested in all the CRM stuff and until I can type “Zulu for android” into Google Play Store on my phone and install a softphone that will work more than 12 months and/or require me to continually pay licensing, it’s not happening.
In the droid world you click, pay once, install, and the app is good for the life of the phone.

It will be in Google play with it comes out of beta. It will be free in Google play as it’s licensed based on the PBX on what you buy from the PBX Zulu license. Zulu is much more than a softphone.
FreePBX polling Time Server every three minutes
See https://access.redhat.com/solutions/39194 and https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-unix-bsd-is-ntp-client-working/ .
However, why would you want to do this?
If it’s just the log clutter, I would assume that your firewall can ‘whitelist’ this traffic.
Surely not the bandwidth; even on a slow 1 Mbps connection, it’s about 0.0004%
Or the cost, if you pay a cloud provider $0.12/GB for egress, it’s about $0.002 per year.
Note that if you do a simple daily update e.g. with ntpdate, a system clock frequency error of 0.01% would result in errors of up to eight seconds. If for troubleshooting you need to compare event times between systems, this could be problematic.

Group Pickup Help
I have PBXact UCC with Sangoma S500 phones.
Customer has and area with 9 phones and each phones has its own DID. There is also two Ring groups in the area. 8 phones belong to Ring Group A and 2 phones belong to Ring Group B.
Customer wants to to able to have any user press a group pickup key and answer the first call that rang in whether it is a DID call or a ring group A or B call.
They are coming off a Noretel Centrex system where they can do this by dialing 1111
Is there a way to accomplish this in PBXact?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Group Pickup Help
You can do that. You need to set up the pick up group number for the extension and then dial the group pickup code in order to pick up a ringing extension.
Group Pickup Help
If you set Call Groups and Pickup Groups to (say) 1 for every extension, then any extension can dial *8 (or whatever you set for Asterisk General Call Pickup) to pick up any call in the system.
What would you like to see added in FreePBX 15?
Not at this time. However I highly encourage you to play with the public beta of Zulu 3 on the desktop (which requires the latest Zulu module for FreePBX which is available in the EDGE repo and the alpha client available on zulu-updated.sangoma.com) to get an idea of what’s coming. As more information is available regarding our mobile release we will definitely let everyone know.

Sorry. It will require a license on the server side.
FreePBX polling Time Server every three minutes
Thank you Stewart, cost is not an issue, I was just concerned if this would have been an issue. You (and the links) have clarified this.

Why is a girl photoshopped into the picture of the server cabinets on the community page?
I’m closing this thread as it really border lines on trolling. It’s a marketing image in a marketing post that you can close and move on and it won’t show up ever again.

The enterprise phones used to have separate firmware for Cisco call manger and regular sip mode. Regular sip mode was awful. Haven’t touched a Cisco phone in years because they are absolutely terrible (or were) if you weren’t using CCM. If you’ve got CCM then those phones are great
They would. But it doesn’t matter. Use whatever works for you.
Voice Payload size with ATT to FreePBX (asterisk 13) to Riedel intercom payload error expected 120 get 240
Hi
running FreePBX 10.13.66-22, and Asterisk 13 recently switched to Asterisk 13.
Our service comes from ATT VoIP and the call is processed thru the FreePBX the out as a trunk to the Riedel intercom.
When using asterisk 11 all was OK
After switching to Asterisk 13 the Riedel Artist intercom is no linger happy when a call comes in from ATT VIA a cell phone or a POST line i get the error below
Invalid RTP Payload Length,Node/002/Client/05/VoIPLocal/7,Major,Received RTP payload type 0 with invalid length 240 (expected 160).
calls within the FreePBX with asterisk 13 and calls from another number (different locations) from ATT VOIP service properly.
thsi leads me to believe that ATT is sending the call as Payload 160 on one type of call and as 240 on another. Furthermore it appears that the Asterisk 11 masked the change and Asterisk 13 does not. I do not know if this is normal behavior of asterisk. If i switch back to asterisk 11 (nice how FreeBPX lets me do this)
the failure goes away and if i switch back to asterisk 13 the problem reappears.
Otherwise the FreePBX with asterisk 13 works as expected.
i have the following questions.
- how can i tell on a call by call basis what payload is ATT sending?
- assuming i am correct is it normal to receive different payloads on different call types?
- is there a way to set the FreePBX 10.13.66-22 with asterisk 13 to behave as asterisk 11 did and mask the issue bu always have a payload of 160 on the trunks going toward the Riedel intercom?
Thank you
