PJSIP Error with NO PJSIP configured

$

Hello All,

I have a situation where randomly the PBX decides that calls won’t go through to an extension, upon checking the logs I see the below error.

res_pjsip_header_funcs.c:461 func_read_header: This function requires a PJSIP channel

At the time it was running FreePBX14 with Asterisk 13.
I decided to test again and switched to both Asterisk 14 & Asterisk 15 with the same results.
We are also current on all updates. 12.7.5-1805-3.sng7

I confirmed that ALL extensions including this one were configured as CHAN-SIP and not PJSIP and all trunks are also CHAN-SIP, at no point am I expecting anything to communicate over PJSIP.

Any ideas how I can get this to work properly again?

Thanks!

Thank you, I think that may be the simple solution going forward.

Error when I Apply Config

Hi everyone,
I have run into a problem today and I cannot seem to find the solution. After I ran a yum update and updated all the modules, I get an error trying to Apply Config:

Reload failed because retrieve_conf encountered an error: 1
exit: 1
Unable to continue. Only variables should be assigned by reference in /var/www/html/admin/modules/core/functions.inc.php on line 5454

#3 /var/lib/asterisk/bin/retrieve_conf(860): FreePBX\DialplanHooks->processHooks(‘asterisk’, Array)
#4 {main}

I am running
PBX Firmware:12.7.5-1805-3.sng7
FreePBX 14.0.3.6
This server was installed from the distro

Before this error in the CORE module, I got the same error for DAHDI Config module and Phone Apps module.

I removed those modules but I can’t remove the CORE, obviously. I tried reinstalling PHP as well.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Let me know if I failed to provide important information.

Thank you

This is interesting. I just spent my day trying a number of different versions of motif or freepbx. From my past working check point.

The guide in the opening post has been updated to include Billsimons recommendations, I followed the guide from a fresh install start to finish myself, twice. Just to be sure that it works without any issues.

Inbound and outbound calls are working perfectly, and there were no errors. You are able to make use of inbound/outbound routes with FreePBX, as you normally would.

For now I added a disclaimer about using make samples until I can track down the reason for the errors.

Steps for downgrade Zulu from 3 to 2?

Hi Andrew,

You did supose we have no reported the issue, and you are wrong. Getting commercial support sometimes it takes to long, and the problem we are suffering is critical enough to downgrade Zulu version. We make hundreds of calls in a few minutes, and calls quality is not good enough to talk to anyone because of this issue.

Anyway, two ours after we downgraded it, we receibed a message from sangoma advertising the origin of the issue was detected and reported to R&D team. Issue still persists so we couldn’t operate with this version on a production machine.

So… if we have to return back again to v3, you advirtise we have to reset the Zulu data. What do you mean? What do we have to do? I wil appreciate any information about this,

Best regards.

There are 2 commands:
account.x.subscribe_register = XX
account.x.blf.subscribe_period = XX

The phones subscribes on boot and register but when the IP Changes the phone thinks it is already subscribed and does not resubscribe on re-register.

Changed this (account.x.blf.subscribe_period = 360) to 360s and it resubscribes in the time.

This is normal and, as far as I know, it’s harmless. I highly doubt this is the cause of your endpoint not ringing.

When I switched to PJSIP being the primary for a certain server with CHAN_SIP still on I was getting the opposite error. I almost wonder if it sends headers for both channels at the same time when both are installed so one automatically fails.

Hotdesking

We tried hotdesking with Yealinks but it required using the SIP password to login. I think the Sangoma’s just require the voicemail password so it works more as intended.

I’ve got 32 bit freepbx installed because the pc i’m using as the server only supports 32 bit (it’s old). Should i put the latest 64-bit freepbx on a newer pc? (I have another pc, but i don’t really want to wipe it and install freepbx if i don’t have to.) Will the latest 64 bit resolve my issues?
