Call pickup troubles
FreePBX 15. This install is in a small school.
At lunchtime, the Secretary goes downstairs to serve lunch.
The Principal would like to pick up the Secretary’s extension when it rings.
Principal is x301, Secretary is x300.
I told the principal to dial **300. Nothing
I built a pickup group named “Office”, put both extensions in it and told her to dial *8. Nothing.
Any other ideas?
Quick Question - Intercom style phone system?
The manual above is for Asterisk…if you install a freePBX distro, you already have a built-in TFTP-server. The Endpointmanager generates standard (minimum) config files for the Cisco phone…but of course, you can always do it manually and put a xml-config file for the Cisco in the TFTP-folder of your freePBX server.
Use Filezilla (ftp-client) to copy files to the tftp-folder. In case you are on a Windows machine, do not use the standard text editor in Windows, use a Linux-compatible editor like Proton ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/protoneditor/ ). In Filezilla you can set the text editor to Proton…
EDIT: When you use the built-in tftp-server of freePBX, you have to configure the network settings of your Cisco manually on the phone. You can enter a manual IP, a DNS etc…but the most important setting is “alternative TFTP-server”…there you enter the IP of freePBX. After that you restart the phone and it will pull the config file from the freePBX tftp-folder…and the SIP firmware, if you put it there
Most importantly, check if the SIP firmware is already installed on your phones…because it seems Cisco does not provide any SIP firmware for this phone anymore…
Call pickup troubles
What does it say in the freePBX extension settings at “Pickup Group”? In my case it says “1” for all extensions.

Office. New versions allow names, not just numbers.
UCP is currently disabled!
Hi! Probable you will have to upgrade lot of modules.
Go to your CLI (ssh) and type: fwconsole ma upgradeall && fwconsole ma enable ucp
Then: fwconsole reload
UCP is currently disabled!
I ran the command as suggested. Below is the output. Though certman was installed but UCP upgrade was stalled.
What do I do again?
[root@ivr ~]# fwconsole ma upgradeall && fwconsole ma enable ucp

Possible to use VoIP extension as a Trunk for placing calls?
I believe you are correct but unfortunately the documentation isn’t very good. We have to take this one step at a time, first getting it to register, then trying to make and receive calls. When you test this, be sure to close MicroSIP; the provider may not allow more than one device at the same time.
I can think of three approaches, First, try this register string:
+915324000xx@ims.airtel.in@ims.airtel.in:Huawei@1@10.232.142.146/+915324000xx
If it shows Registered, edit the Peer Details:
fromdomain=ims.airtel.in
username=+915324000xx@ims.airtel.in
fromuser=+915324000xx@ims.airtel.in
leave other settings as they are.
If this fails, report results and we’ll decide whether another approach is needed.

Certman 14.0.8.1 is in the stable repo, so it should work. Are you able to install with:
fwconsole ma downloadinstall certman --tag 14.0.8.1
