Well, in your screenshot you didn’t select what it should synchronize…
Fail2ban and fwconsole
Sangoma PBX vs grandstream
I have used lots of grandstream products over the years (my very first phone was a GXP2000) from ATA’s (HT206, HT306, HT486, HT466, HT503) and Phones (Budgetone 200, Budetone 201, GXP2000, GXP2020, DP750) and Video Phones (GXV3000, GXV3140, GXV3240, GXV3275) and PBX’s (GXE5024, UCM61XX).
In general they are fairly cheap hardware but unfortunately in my experience not very “hardy” in the long term.
The success story has been the DP750 / DP720 (3) Phones which I have been using for nearly four years, a couple of firmware upgrade issues at the start but since then working well, feel like a decent product and no hardware failures.
Also the UCM61XX didn’t fail, only ever ran two with about three years service between them but no hardware failures and software seemed to work fine (not as flexible as FPBX but usable enough).
After that my grandstream experience has been really poor. Most of the original power supply units went into a bin in under two years, of the HT206, HT306, HT486, HT466, HT503 only the HT503 survives today but with a faulty FXO port that shows busy even when unplugged, all the Budgetone 200, Budetone 201, GXP2000, GXP2020 died either in service or during firmware updates except one GXP2000 which is no longer in service but remains working.
Of the Video Phones, GXV3000 (2) all had screen failures (half the screen went fuzzy) GXV3140 died in service, GXV3275 touch screen stopped responding accurately and while both GXV3240 I have still work they have become very ‘clunky’ and have need a reset to try and speed them up more than once.
The GXE5024 was sold working but I really struggled to keep trunk registrations up on it despite FPBX and 3CX systems behind the same routers having no issues doing so while I had it on test.
I have installed a couple of Sangoma pbxact appliances without issue, and although I don’t maintain them I understand they remain working fine, others I know who have had more to do the pbxact appliances speak well of them and don’t report any failures.
So from my personal experience and feed back from people I trust I would say the reason for the Grandstream products being cheap is because they are, and the reason the pbxact appliance is expensive is because it reflects the quality (and therefore longevity) of the product.
I know I would rather trust a pbxact product over a grandstream one as my PBX, especially in a commercial environment where downtime is lost money.
On a final note to be fair to Grandstream the DP750 / DP720 experience I have had suggests their quality is much improved, but outside of the UCM61XX I think I would avoid their legacy product and only use a UCM61xx in limited circumstances (home use etc).
Extension contact images
Hi, i am at a loss on trying to get the Extension contact image to show up on the phones (Sangoma S505), we added an image to the contact associated to the extension (User Manager > [user] > User details > Contact image), when that extension is called, no image shows on the phone.
Are we looking in the right place for this?
Integrate XMPP Chat with my own application
Where can I look for the Backend configuration files of the XMPP Server ?
Admin gui won't open
This morning one of my systems won’t go past the initial index.php screen.
I click on the admin link to get to the login and nothing happens. no login window appears. No error message, nothing.
The UCP link works.
I ssh’d in and tried an fwconsole reload and chown, no effect.
Any thoughts?
PBX on a DMZ or not?
Hi
I have successfully updated our PBX from version 12 to the latest version via a restore and have configured the server to run in a VM.
I have 25 Cisco endpoints and 5 remote workers and the old live version 12 server is currently sitting on our LAN in our standard IP range.
I intend on moving the endpoints onto the new server and changing from 3 x PSTN lines to 4 SIP trunks and wanted to know the best network solution. I have a linux firewall with multiple zones so i could put the PBX on a dedicated zone and not on the general IP range on a DMZ and use the built in firewall.
I have a TFTP server also on the normall eange which i guess ill have to move to the new range?
I have read varios opinions but wanted to get an exsperienced persons point of view.
Admin gui won't open
Tried on multiple browsers and even from different locations. It’s like it’s just an empty shell.

lol poor F2B! like retirement!
PBX on a DMZ or not?
Built in firewall and fail2ban works GREAT (my experience). Should wait to hear from others.
Admin gui won't open
Tried clearing cache?
Try re-installing framework
fwconsole ma downloadinstall framework --force
fwconsole reload
Certificate still not renewing
Guys, I don’t have ANY such option that I can find for “Responsive Let’s Encrypt Rules”. There is no such menu at Firewall->Advanced Settings.
I just ran “fwconsole firewall lerules enable” on the command line and boom, certificates renew. I have been dealing with this for a LONG TIME until just now.
Something I’m missing here?
Ari - rest api
Want to connect an external BRM system to Asterisk and get channel/recording information.

Any reason it’s not binding to the port I’ve configured in http_custom.conf? Haven’t tried connecting yet but I’m worried now my user isn’t configured either.
Urgent Help Required (fail2ban failure)
Wouldn’t remove fail2ban for anything, it has with only a couple of blips kept my system secure for a few years now, but if you can configure an extra (solid) layer of protection in with an off port set up why wouldn’t you?
Module Admin Crashes
When I try to go into Module Admin via the GUI it crashes with the following error " Exception
RPM command errored, Delete /dev/shm/yumwrapper/* and try again. Exit code 2 - see FreePBX log for more info."
I have tried yum update and fwconsole ma upgrade all
and all the modules appear to be up to date.
Any idea how I sort this issue?
Thanks
PBX on a DMZ or not?
Just had a few issues with my system coming under attack and I only has port 5060 (now moved to an off standard solution) exposed with the required RTP ports to the internet.
I assume your standard
is then supported through forwarding and firewall entries in your router? why would you want to expose the PBX to any more security risk than necessary?
Ari - rest api
just ran “ari show users” and my configured user is listed:
so weird. I don’t mind using 8088 i guess
Admin gui won't open
nope. still the same. Not only did I reload cache I tried from different browsers and different internet connections including my phone on celular.
Module Admin Crashes
did you do as it says and:
Delete /dev/shm/yumwrapper/*
Error: VPN Cert Days value is Changed: Rebuild VPN certificates
FreePBX 15.0.17.17 / Current Asterisk Version 16.15.1 / all modules up to date
The VPN Server module had been working well as far as I’m aware. I recently added a Yealink SIP T-22P phone to FreePBX and was trying to set up a VPN client for the T-22P extension. Now when I try to do anything in the System Admin==>VPN Server module, I get a pop-up dialog box that looks like this:
Rebuilt VPN certificates
The value for CERT_DAYS_VAL has been changed. To apply this new value, please click on Rebuild button or Cancel button to abort.
Rebuilt Close
When I click on the “Rebuilt” [sic] button, the process runs indefinitely. I ran this overnight and this morning it was still running.
Note that the CERT Days Remaining field at the top of the VPN Server module says 3638 days
In the Dashboard there is an error:
!Security Issue!
VPN Cert Days value is Changed
This is a critical issue and should be resolved urgently
When I click on the “Resolve” button in the Dashboard, it takes me to the VPN Server module and
the “Rebuilt VPN certificates” pop-up dialog described above.

VoIP Lines from Comcast Business into FreePBX server?
I have a small retail business with 2 voip lines from Comcast Business. I have a Grandstream but its garbage, keeps needing to be rebooted etc. Im going to build an i3 PC and bought a samgoma B600 analog card with FXO ports on it to run FreePBX. I believe I can use my existing Grandstream IP Phones with FreePBX.
Is that the right way to go or is that inefficient or wrong in some way?
Thanks in advance!
